The Opportunity - International Tax Senior Manager Adobe empowers the world's most creative minds through digital experiences that build the future. Our Global Tax team plays a critical role in enabling that innovation, delivering high-quality tax solutions that support growth across 50+ countries. We're seeking a hands-on, highly analytical International Tax Senior Manager to own U.S. international tax compliance, sophisticated modeling, and regional tax oversight for Canada. Reporting to the Director of U.S. International Tax and based in San Jose, this visible role combines day-to-day execution with process and modeling infrastructure development. You'll partner closely with tax leadership while mentoring teammates and driving process improvements in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment. As tax laws, business operations, and the global operating environment continue to evolve rapidly, we need a Senior Manager who is eager to learn, adapt quickly, and expand their impact across the organization, helping the organization navigate complex tax matters effectively.
If you thrive on complex data, love optimizing models and processes (including AI), and want to make a tangible impact at a global tech leader, this is your opportunity. What you'll do: Lead compliance efforts for U.S. international tax matters • Own and manage end-to-end U.S. international tax compliance, including technical analysis, coordination with external advisors, and oversight of OneSource International processes (data inputs, model integration, output validation, and filings).
• Partner with domestic and state tax teams to ensure alignment across the U.S. compliance process, including amended returns as needed.
• Deliver high-quality work with Director-level oversight while driving day-to-day execution. Develop and Enhance Tax Modeling Capabilities • Design, build, and maintain advanced Excel-based models, including enhancing existing frameworks and developing new models as business needs evolve, to forecast U.S. international tax positions and ETR drivers.
• Support ASC 740 provision calculations, long-range planning, evaluation of tax strategies, and assessment of legislative/regulatory changes. Partner with Tax Provision Team • Collaborate closely with the tax provision team on accurate forward-looking modeling of U.S. international tax impacts, including cash taxes and ETR. Contribute to Tax Planning & Controversy • Analyze and model proposed tax law changes and planning opportunities; deliver clear, actionable recommendations to partners.
• Support U.S. international aspects of tax audits and controversy (IDR responses and analysis). Serve as Tax Lead for Canada • Act as primary point of contact for Canadian tax matters (compliance, provision, planning and controversy).
• Manage external advisors, monitor local developments, and partner with finance/business partners. Support Tax Governance, Process Improvement & Team Development • Assist in strengthening tax governance frameworks, policies, controls, and documentation. • Improve and scale processes using AI automation, enhanced data workflows, and technology to boost efficiency and accuracy. • Mentor and develop team members on technical skills and execution. • Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Legal, and business teams on critical initiatives. A Day in the Life You might start the day by refining a dynamic ETR forecast model, review tax compliance workbooks with your team, jump on a call with advisors about a new regulation, and end by presenting modeling insights to senior tax leaders-all while helping Adobe deliver creative tools to millions worldwide. What you need to succeed: Required • CPA, MST, JD/LL.M. in Taxation, or equivalent • 10+ years of international tax experience (Big 4 and/or large multinational), with deep U.S. international tax expertise • Strong knowledge of key U.S. tax rules affecting international operations (FTC, GILTI, FDII, BEAT, Subpart F) plus familiarity with ASC 740 (international components) and broader U.S. corporate tax principles
• Advanced Excel modeling skills and experience building and managing complex and dynamic decision-driving models • Experience evaluating tax planning considerations and modeling financial impacts • Experience with OneSource (International Module) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP) • High attention to detail and proven ability to maintain accuracy across models, forecasts, and compliance deliverables • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Demonstrated capacity to prioritize multiple priorities, mentor others, and communicate complex tax concepts to non-tax partners
Preferred • Familiarity with transfer pricing concepts and their operational implications as well as Pillar Two • Passion for bringing to bear technology (AI, automation) to transform tax processes
