Responsibilities
- Deliver respiratory care in critical care areas, including protocol-driven ventilator management and independent clinical decision-making.
- Administer medications and therapies per physician orders; monitor patient response and adjust as needed.
- Apply the evaluate-and-treat process to develop and implement care plans for patients with complex, multi-system needs.
- Provide patient, family, and support-system education; coordinate activities and contribute to discharge planning.
- Participate in staff development, onboarding, and ongoing professional growth; support education of new staff and students.
- Maintain thorough documentation, follow established policies, and participate in quality improvement activities.

Requirements
- Active respiratory therapy licensure required; licensure appropriate to the practicing location.
- Certification: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or eligible, as applicable to the role.
- Experience in critical care settings with ventilator management and complex patient care.
- Education: graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program (associate or bachelor’s degree acceptable).
- Ability to work nights and 12-hour shifts in a high-acuity hospital environment.
