Company: Gerber Collision & Glass Job Description The Auto Body Technician’s primary responsibility is to provide an exceptional customer experience through the meticulous assessment and quality repair of each vehicle. They disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles, ensuring a fast, high‑quality outcome while representing The Boyd Group brand. Key Job Responsibilities Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan. Plan repair work, prepare cost estimates, and use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair sections. Remove dents and minor damage, mix and apply filler resins when necessary. Realign chassis and frames to repair structural damage. Remove damaged portions and replace with new or aftermarket parts, including glass and windshields. Replace or repair interior parts as needed. Weld and attach parts, prepare, and repaint vehicles with factory or agreed paint. Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines; inspect vehicles after repair. Perform other related duties as assigned. Education and Experience Required High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of technical school program or a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer. Required Skills and Abilities Read job orders and work with little supervision. Work effectively with other repairers in a shop. Understand methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies. Know how to use tools required for the trade. Other Requirements Work safely in a noisy, odorous environment. Lift up to 30 pounds when required. Visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions. Flexibly bend, stretch, kneel, and squat during repairs and inspections. Note: This job description is not exhaustive. Duties may change over time.
