Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated bartender in a fine dining restaurant who provides exceptional beverage service to guests, while creating a memorable and enjoyable dining experience. The bartender is responsible for preparing and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to the restaurant's standards. They should possess a strong knowledge of mixology, wines, and spirits all while exhibiting excellent customer service skills.

Core Job Responsibilities & Duties

• Greets guests in a friendly and professional manner, engaging in conversation and offering beverage suggestions
• Attends to guests' needs promptly, ensuring exceptional service throughout their dining experience
• Maintains a professional and friendly attitude while attending to guests' needs
• Demonstrates a strong knowledge of the restaurant's beverage offerings, including wines, beer selections, and specialty cocktails
• Takes drink orders from guests and accurately enters them into the POS system
• Prepares and serves a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, wines, beers, and spirits.
• Follows the recipes and techniques provided by the restaurant for consistent and high-quality drink preparation
• Ensures proper garnishing, presentation, and glassware selection to enhance the visual appeal of beverages
• Understands and applies mixology techniques to create unique and innovative cocktails
• Provides detailed descriptions of beverages while giving recommendations and suggestions to guests based on their preferences and the restaurant's offerings
• Actively promotes and upsells premium beverages, specialty cocktails, and wine pairings
• Stays updated on current beverage trends, mixology techniques, and industry developments
• Maintains a comprehensive understanding of the restaurant's wine list, including varietals, regions, and food pairing
• Continuously expands knowledge of spirits, liqueurs, and other alcoholic beverages
• Maximizes revenue by effectively managing pour costs, portion control, and minimizing waste
• Monitors and manages inventory levels of beverages, ingredients, and supplies
• Properly handles and stores beverage stock, maintaining freshness, quality, and organization
• Ensures the bar area is clean, organized, and properly stocked at all times
• Adheres to sanitary and safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards
• Cleans and polishes glassware, bar utensils, and equipment
• Performs routine maintenance tasks on bar equipment as required by restaurant standards
• Provides guidance and training to other staff members on beverage knowledge and service techniques
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or management

• Ability to work independently and as a team in a fast-paced environment
• Proven experience as a bartender in a fine dining or upscale restaurant
• Extensive knowledge of mixology, wine, beer, and spirits
• Must have a flexible work schedule
