Job Description
TITLE
Ultrasound Technologist - Diagnostic Imaging

SCHEDULE
(4) 10 hour shifts, Monday and Tuesday 12 PM - 10:30 PM and Thursday and Friday 7 AM - 5:30 PM, rotating on call.

ASSIGNMENT DETAILS

REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology or Radiology Technology
- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) registration in Ultrasound Technology required
- AHA BLS required within 6 months of hire
- Previous experience performing ultrasound procedures preferred or equivalent experience as determined by Department Manager

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produce two-dimensional ultrasonic recordings of internal organs, using ultrasound equipment, for use by physicians in the diagnosis of disease and study of organ malfunction.
- Select and set up ultrasound equipment according to examination specifications and assist patients in assuming the necessary positions for examinations.
- Ensure all ultrasound images are of optimum diagnostic quality and comply with pre-determined image criteria.
- Document patient orders and charges accurately and manage scheduling and patient flow to ensure timely exam completion.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients by mitigating fall risks and ensuring accessibility of assistive devices.
- Evaluate and interpret patient responses to pain, employing various pain management techniques.
