This Project Engineer role supports an offsite manufacturing team focused on large data-center projects in a fast-paced construction environment. You develop and manage project plans, schedules, and scopes of work while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and scopes of work for offsite manufacturing and construction activities.

• Manage procurement and purchasing activities, ensuring effective supply chain coordination across multiple vendors and stakeholders.

• Track project financials and support adherence to budgets, including assisting with estimating, cost tracking, and financial oversight.

• Coordinate logistics and vendor communication to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to project sites and offsite facilities.

• Assist with requests for information (RFIs), submittals, and schedule tracking using scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.

• Interpret shop drawings and construction documents to support accurate construction sequencing and field installation activities.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and construction disciplines, to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.

• Support project managers and field teams by preparing technical documentation, reports, and project coordination materials.

• Participate in change management processes, including reviewing and approving change orders and tracking associated cost impacts.

• Contribute to the coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) scopes, with emphasis on HVAC systems and heavy equipment.

• Engage in commercial construction project coordination, ensuring alignment between offsite manufacturing outputs and onsite installation requirements.

• Identify process improvements and propose innovative solutions to enhance construction methods and offsite manufacturing practices.

• Communicate proactively with internal teams and external partners to resolve issues, maintain progress, and support project milestones.

• Apply a process-oriented mindset to understand systems, dependencies, and sequencing across complex construction projects.

• Maintain clear and organized project records, including schedules, budgets, change orders, and technical documentation.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant field experience.

• 2–5 years of experience in construction or manufacturing environments.

• Two or more years of experience in project management, engineering, or construction.

• Proficiency with Navisworks for model review and coordination.

• Proficiency with Bluebeam for document review, markup, and collaboration.

• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, tracking, and reporting.

• Experience using scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.

• Strong understanding of construction processes, including steel work, heavy equipment, and general construction sequencing.

• Experience with purchasing coordination and material logistics in a construction or manufacturing context.

• Familiarity with financial oversight on projects, including budgeting, estimating, approving change orders, and cost tracking.

• Experience working with mechanical scopes and HVAC systems, ideally with a major mechanical subcontractor.

• Ability to coordinate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) work within commercial construction projects.

• Demonstrated accountability and teachability, including taking ownership, communicating proactively, and learning quickly.

• Solid technical foundation in construction principles, tools, and methods.

• Process-oriented thinking, with the ability to understand systems, dependencies, and coordination challenges.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience supporting large data-center projects in commercial construction.

• Experience working with major mechanical contractors or mechanical subcontractors.

• Hands-on experience with project coordination involving mechanical, electrical, and commercial construction scopes.

• Comfort working with change orders, including review, approval, and cost impact tracking.

• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with field teams, vendors, and project stakeholders.

• Ability to interpret shop drawings and technical documents to support construction sequencing and installation planning.

• Interest in offsite manufacturing and prefabrication techniques within the construction industry.

• Ability to contribute ideas that improve efficiency, reduce rework, and streamline project workflows.

Work Environment

You work as part of an established, diverse, and fast-growing team within an offsite manufacturing and construction setting, supporting large data-center projects in the Pacific Northwest. The environment is fast-paced and highly collaborative, with frequent interaction between project management, engineering, field teams, and vendors. You regularly use tools such as Navisworks, Bluebeam, Excel, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Project to manage schedules, review models and drawings, and track project performance. The role focuses on mechanical and commercial construction work, including HVAC systems, steel, heavy equipment, and MEP coordination. The position is based out of an office in Spokane, with standard full-time hours and structured project deadlines. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Seattle, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
