We have locations throughout the United States that specialize in providing state-of-the-art, minimally invasive treatments for complex neck and spine problems as well as sports-related injuries and conditions.The Medical Assistant professional is responsible for assisting practitioners in providing care to their patients. The duties of the Medical Assistant includes, but is not limited to, recording and updating medical histories and contact information in patient files, scheduling patient appointments, and performing standard care procedures like drawing blood, checking vitals or collecting lab samples.Duties and Responsibilities:Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.Escorting patients into exam rooms.Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.Explain treatment procedures, medications, or physicians' instructions to patients.Proper disposal of any waste materials in Biohazard or SHARPS containersOrganizing, planning, and prioritizing work in conjunction with the provider and Facilities ManagerInventory of medical supplies and equipment.Perform administrative clerical work in medical settingsMaintain inventory of medications for patients and procedure areaMay operate x-ray or other equipment to administer routine diagnostic testingCleans and sterilizes medical equipment; observes the principles of sterile technique in performing dutiesPrepares all pre screening for procedures and surgical consultsFits and instructs on proper use of DMEPerforming audits as needed on related tasksOther duties and tasks as assignedQualifications:High school diploma or GED requiredCompletion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required; Medical Assistant Certification or Registered Medical Assistant strongly preferredExcellent interpersonal skillsAbility to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a professional, courteous and friendly manner at all timesMust be detail-oriented and highly organizedFirm grasp on medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policiesStrong knowledge and understanding of electronic medical record systemsKnowledge of diagnostic testing equipment and sterilization equipmentKnowledge of patient care and examination proceduresMust be able to maintain confidentiality at all timesBilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferredPhysical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
