Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse - $2,301 per week

Job Overview TNAA TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN OR – Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Waterloo, Iowa. Key Responsibilities Assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients, providing pre‑ and post‑surgery care and education to the patient. Circulating OR Nurse duties: work within the operating suite but outside of the sterile field; prepare instruments for specific surgical procedures; monitor and observe the patient during surgery; respond to potential complications alongside the physician. Scrub OR Nurse duties: handle and prepare operating instruments and equipment within the sterile field; selection and handling of surgical instruments and supplies during procedures. RN First Assistant duties: assist physicians by delivering direct surgical care; help control bleeding; suture patients following surgery. Provide basic bedside care; prepare, administer and record prescribed medication; report adverse reactions. Serve as the communication liaison between patients’ family members and members of the operating team; ensure the correct procedure is performed on the correct patient; initiate patient education plans. Respond to comfort and safety needs; accurate care and handling of specimens; monitor equipment; inventory surgical items pre‑ and post‑procedure. Requirements Specialty: OR – Operating Room Discipline: RN Start Date: 06/28/2028 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 10 hours, days Employment Type: Travel 1–2 years recent acute‑care experience as a circulating or scrub nurse, and/or RN first assistant. BLS, NIH, 1 year required. Additional certifications may be required before beginning the assignment. Physical requirements: stand/walk for long periods; bend, lean and stoop without difficulty; lift 20 pounds routinely (up to 50 pounds at times); exposure to chemicals or infectious diseases may occur.
