Job Description Overview Our client is seeking a Software Developer in Test II (SDET II) to join an Agile Scrum team focused heavily on API automation, backend applications, and external partner integrations. This individual will serve as a key testing resource for the team and will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and expanding automation coverage for APIs, services, and integrations. The ideal candidate will have strong API automation experience, solid coding skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with both internal stakeholders and external partners. Responsibilities Develop, execute, and maintain automated tests for APIs, services, and backend applications Create automation coverage for new APIs, integrations, and application functionality Design, enhance, and expand automation frameworks and testing coverage Serve as a primary testing resource for assigned Agile Scrum team initiatives Support testing efforts involving external partners and third-party integrations Perform regression, smoke, integration, and pre-release testing activities Collaborate with developers, BSAs, Product Managers, architects, and external partners Review automation code and ensure alignment with established team standards Execute API testing utilizing Postman Collections and Java-based automation suites Troubleshoot defects and assist with root-cause analysis efforts Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to overall testing strategy Leverage AI-assisted development and testing technologies to improve quality and efficiency Growth Opportunity This position offers significant ownership and visibility within the organization, with opportunities to progress into Senior SDET and Test Engineering leadership roles while helping drive Choice Hotels' automation strategy and quality initiatives.
