Quality Control Specialist 1

Roles & Responsibilities

Train and become proficient in required techniques, equipment, and software related to QC testing and reporting.
Conduct routine QC tests under supervision, following protocols and SOPs.
Work with human blood, mammalian cell cultures, or animal tissues, as required.
Prioritize daily workload and gradually work independently.
Analyze data, report test results, and ensure all documentation and database entries are accurate.
Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment; report issues to the supervisor or manager.
Maintain logs and necessary documentation.
Prepare lab supplies, reagents, and assist with lab maintenance.
Promote and comply with laboratory safety practices.
Address and report any hazardous conditions or unsafe practices to supervisors and Safety Officers.
Participate in Environmental, Health & Safety programs.
Engage in cross-functional teams or departmental projects.
Participate in assigned cross-training.
Perform other related duties as required.

Experience Required

Minimum of 2 years of related experience in a biotech lab environment.
Prior experience in an industrial or research laboratory is preferred.
Experience with Flow Cytometry is required.
Experience with Tissue Culture is highly preferred.

Skills & Certifications

Proficiency with MS Excel and Word .
Knowledge of general laboratory safety protocols .
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills .
Ability to follow established procedures and protocols .
Skilled in record-keeping and documentation .
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills .

Eligibilities & qualifications

BS/BA in a related scientific discipline, or some relevant college coursework.
Willingness to work with biological samples including human and animal tissues.
Commitment to adhering to safety and compliance standards.
