Merchandising Sales Representative

Valley Beverage, a family-owned leader in premium beverage distribution for over 50 years, is seeking a dedicated Merchandising Sales Representative to join our team in Central Maine. As a trusted partner to both national and local brands, Valley Beverage offers a diverse portfolio that includes beer, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages. The Merchandising Sales Representative will play a key role in promoting our products, building strong relationships with retail partners, and ensuring our beverages are attractively displayed and readily available to customers. Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with retail store managers and staff, serving as a knowledgeable resource for product information and brand support.
• Sell and promote Valley Beverage’s diverse product portfolio to large format stores within the assigned territory.
• Ensure shelves are well-stocked, products are rotated according to code dates, and displays are visually appealing and organized.
• Identify and execute opportunities for product placement and in-store promotional initiatives to maximize visibility and sales.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to ensure consistent product availability.
• Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries, addressing any issues or concerns as they arise.
• Maintain a clean and organized back stock area to support efficient merchandising operations.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a proven ability to build positive relationships with retail partners and customers.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Previous experience in sales or retail merchandising, preferably within the beverage industry, is a plus.
• Interest in the beverage industry and familiarity with various beverage styles and brands.
• Availability to work a Monday through Friday schedule, approximately 45-50 hours per week.
• Valid driver's license.
• Physical ability to lift and move heavy cases from ground level to overhead.
