Our mission-driven team is seeking a bold and dynamic AI&T Space Suit Technician who is fueled by high ownership, execution horsepower, growth mindset, and driven to understand our world, science/technology, and life itself, for the benefit of all on Earth and beyond.POSITION SUMMARYWe are looking for a resilient, high-energy, person to become an AI&T Precision Cleaning Technician. This individual will be responsible for cleaning, testing, and maintenance of hardware including, but not limited to: Space Suit Life Support components, test rigs and other equipment as required. Job responsibilities will include: repair and maintenance, cleaning, inspection, Engineering Change (EC) incorporation, assembly, disassembly, and performance/functional testing. Repair and maintenance processes require the use of hazardous materials such as adhesives, lubricants, and solvents. Performance and functional testing require the use of pressurized gases and pure water systems. The technician will perform duties per documented procedures and work authorizing documents. Additionally, the technician will interface with customers, other technicians, engineers, logistics, and bond room personnel on a daily basis to perform job duties.KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for assembly, cleaning, and reassembly of aerospace hardware including the processing of components for use in oxygen and ground support systems to defined specificationsWill be responsible for the maintenance and sustaining of precision cleaning lab equipment used for cleaning space suit hardwareProcessing of parts to specified levels of cleanliness using precision ultrasonic, acid, and caustic cleaning methodsMaintain awareness of all safety policies and procedures, as well as use of all required safety and personal protective equipmentSpecified training online, and in classroom, as required to maintain certifications to perform job functionsPerform other duties as requiredQUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education & ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent GED15 – 20 years’ experience in a related field required or an appropriate equivalent combination of education and experiencePrecision cleaning experience with xEMU/EMU and verifying cleanliness of hardwareMust be experienced with NASA standards for precision cleaning and verification of those standardsFamiliarity with NASA Contamination Control RequirementsMust be knowledgeable in the use of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the Aerospace precision cleaning fieldFamiliarity with NASA documentation involving verification of cleanliness of flight hardwareMust be able to work with external organizations such as NASA Engineering, Safety, and QualityExperience using a wide variety of precision tools and measuring devicesTrack record of delivering outcomes in ambiguous, fast-moving environmentsUses good judgement to problem-solve proactively, positively impacting hard challengesProven to deliver high quality results under tight deadlinesCore SkillsPassion for space and the missionEntrepreneurial, growth mindsetHigh EQ and ability to collaborate within teams and cross-functionallyTech-solutioning in using systems and tools to move smarter and fasterCore Competencies:Embody our core values of leadership, innovation, and teamwork.
