Job Summary

The Karol Hotel is a boutique hotel located in the Feather Sound area of Clearwater, FL, convenient to the beaches, St Pete, and Tampa. The Karol features 123 rooms and suites, and features Katch Restaurant and Vantage Rooftop Bar, along with ballrooms and conference rooms to host events. The Karol Hotel is part of Marriott's Tribute Portfolio.

The Food Runner/Expo works within the Food & Beverage team to ensure quality service to our guests. This position represents the highest standards to ensure exceptional service to all guests that is consistent and continually in accordance with Marriott's Tribute Portfolio standards.

Essential Functions

Keep Things Moving: Make sure orders get from the kitchen to the guests quickly and accurately, so they enjoy their meals at the perfect moment
Check Every Detail: Double-check each plate to ensure it looks great and matches the order exactly before it leaves the kitchen
Deliver with a Smile: Serve food to guests with a friendly attitude, making them feel welcome and well taken care of
Stay Organized: Keep the expo station clean and tidy, helping everything run smoothly, even during busy times
Communicate Clearly: Work closely with the kitchen and servers, keeping everyone on the same page to ensure guests have a great dining experience
Lend a Hand: Be ready to answer questions about the menu or help with special requests, always aiming to make guests feel at home

Qualification Standards

Education & Experience

Previous experience in a fast-paced restaurant or hospitality setting is required
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to stand for long periods of time and safely carry heavy trays
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to use technology, e.g. tablets

Physical Demands

Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Ability to walk and bend
Ability to lift 25 lbs.
Ability to communicate clearly
