Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry

Location

San Antonio, TX

About the Role

We are actively seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in telemetry to join our dynamic team. This position involves providing high-quality care to patients requiring telemetry monitoring while demonstrating compassionate and effective communication skills.

Shift Details

• Shift Hours: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM / 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Work Requirements: Every other weekend and some holidays
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Unit Information

• Unit: Telemetry (3W)
• Documentation System: EBCD Meditech
• Staffing Description: Communication boards, hourly rounding, bedside shift reports, AIDET

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of hospital/specialty experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Telemetry monitoring experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment with a strong team focus
• Active Texas RN License is required; temporary licenses will not be accepted

Preferred Skills

• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
• Knowledge of cardiac medications
• Experience with IV drip management, including insulin, heparin, and other cardiac drips

Responsibilities

• IV insertion and management
• Management of lines and drains
• Post-care management following cardiac catheterization, pacemaker placement/revision, and vascular surgery
• Documentation using Meditech charting

Patient Experience

Effective communication with patients and proficiency in de-escalation techniques are essential throughout the care process.

Dress Code

• Scrubs: Navy scrub top and pants, navy or white scrub jacket
• Nail Policy: Clean and healthy
• Hair: Neat and clean without extreme styles or colors; beards and mustaches should be neatly trimmed
• Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible
• Piercings: Visible piercings (other than ears) are prohibited
