49-bed Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation department with daytime hospitalist support

Call Coverage:

Hospitalists cover overnight and weekend call

PM&R Physician Job Requirements

Active physician license in the state of Texas

Active DEA registration

Board certification in an appropriate specialty is required

At least 1 year of experience in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation or a closely related clinical setting

Current ACLS and BLS certifications

Satisfactory background, professional standing, and malpractice history

Ability to complete credentialing requirements, with an estimated timeframe of approximately 45 days

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive inpatient Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation care during scheduled daytime hours

Evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, and coordinate ongoing rehabilitation services

Manage approximately 16-20 patients per day while maintaining high standards of clinical quality and patient safety

Collaborate with hospitalists and the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team to support continuity of care

Document patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards
