About the Position

Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 Hours Experience: Minimum of 3 years of RN Operating Room experience License: Required Certifications: BLS for RN Circulators; ACLS is a plus Must-Have: Must have 3 years of RN Operating Room experience and be comfortable circulating in various cases. Experience with general and orthopedic surgeries, specifically total joints. Prefer experience with plastic surgeries. Must have experience in facilities with Trauma Levels 3 & 4 or Critically Access Clients. Scrubbing experience preferred. Description: Department has 7 operating suites. Average number of cases per day ranges from 5 to 25. Common cases include general surgery, orthopedic/sports medicine, plastics and cosmetics, podiatry, cataracts/eye procedures, and OB/GYN/women's health (non-cancer related) procedures, including endoscopy and colonoscopy. Shifts consist of 5 eight-hour shifts per week, from 0645 to 1515. Late stay and on-call rotations are required, with a block scheduling system managed by the supervisor. On-call requirements typically include 1 to 2 times per week during weeknights, with a response time of 30 minutes. Weekend on-call requirements include 1 to 2 times per month with 24-hour call shifts on Saturdays and Sundays. May be required to participate in holiday call rotation and support scheduling during holiday periods. May be asked to float into scrub roles and assist in various departments including sterile processing. Provided scrubs must not be worn outside of the facility; applicants should arrive in presentable attire. Orientation consists of 1 to 2 shifts with a preceptor, including call shifts as needed. The facility serves a rural community, requiring versatility in handling a wide variety of cases.
