Electrical and Instrumentation Designer

Position Summary:

The Senior I&E Designer will support Oil & Gas, refinery, petrochemical, and chemical projects by developing and coordinating detailed engineering design deliverables using AutoCAD 2D and SPI/InTools. The role requires strong instrumentation, low-voltage electrical design, engineering standards, and EPC/EPCM experience, with coordination across site, engineering, vendors, and remote design teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop instrumentation and electrical drawings using AutoCAD 2D and SPI/InTools.
• Prepare loop, hook-up, JB, instrumentation layout, and related I&E drawings.
• Develop one-line diagrams, power layouts, grounding/earthing, and area classification drawings.
• Support low-voltage electrical design, generally below 480V.
• Apply NEC, NFPA, API, and project/client engineering standards.
• Coordinate with site operations, project engineers, vendors, and engineering teams.
• Incorporate vendor data and field information into design deliverables.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to resolve design interfaces and changes.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
• Support brownfield/site projects and existing facility modifications.
• Maintain effective communication across site, engineering, drafting, and project teams.
• Follow applicable site safety and health requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of relevant Instrumentation & Electrical design experience.
• Diploma, certificate, or degree in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Strong hands-on experience with AutoCAD 2D and SPI/InTools.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, refinery, petrochemical, chemical, or process-plant environments.
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation and electrical drawings.
• Experience with loop, hook-up, JB, and instrumentation layout drawings.
• Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and API standards.
• EPC/EPCM project experience preferred.
• Ability to work onsite in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Brownfield/refinery project experience.
• Experience with one-line diagrams, power distribution, grounding/earthing, and area classification.
• Low-voltage electrical design experience.
• AVEVA 3D experience.
• Experience supporting major Oil & Gas projects.
• Experience coordinating with offshore/remote engineering and drafting teams.
