Job Title: Travel RN - Emergency Department Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience License: Kansas RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, ENPC, NIH Must-Have: Candidates without the following skills will not be considered for the role: - BLS - ACLS - PALS - ENPC - NIH - Kansas License - Experience in traveling or experience at large facility areas Description: This is a travel RN position in the Emergency Department. The unit has 52 beds and 134 staff members. On the day shift, there is 1 charge nurse, 4 nurses, 1 tech, 1 unit clerk, 1 physician, and 1 midlevel per pod. On the night shift, there is 1 charge nurse, 4 nurses, 1 tech, 1 unit clerk, 1 physician, and 1 midlevel per pod. The average patient ratio is 3:1, with a low acuity ratio of 5:1 for adults and team nursing for pediatrics. Typical equipment includes Alaris and the EMR system is Meditech. Candidates with experience in traveling, large facilities, and Meditech will be prioritized. Typical procedures performed on the unit include IV starts, medication administration, sedations, and pediatrics. We are looking for candidates who can keep up in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate should be diverse and able to learn quickly, as the team is composed of younger professionals. Expectations include scanning patients and medications every time.
