Assistant Department Manager Key Carrier (Installation Materials)

Pay Range $22.15 - $35.25 Purpose This position is responsible for training and developing Product Sales Specialists and ensuring that customers have a positive shopping experience by receiving exceptional customer service and product information. The role also supports opening and closing the store and performs select managerial duties as necessary. Minimum Eligibility Requirements High School Diploma or GED 1 year of customer service or sales experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to exercise independent discretion and judgment in a fast‑paced environment, adapting to change with a sense of urgency. Essential Functions Act and work in a manner that is consistent with the company’s core values. Open and/or close the store in an effective manner. Comply with security alarm procedures, store opening and closing protocols, and safety inspections. Complete managerial responsibilities such as inventory audits, markdown approval, overrides, and cash office functions. Ensure store presentation standards are achieved and maintained. Lead morning huddles, execute Power Hours, and function as a CARE Manager. Guarantee safety and security of customers and employees by following loss‑prevention and risk‑management guidelines. Document Workers Compensation and General Liability claims appropriately. Follow safe‑lifting practices and standard operating procedures. Direct Product Sales Specialists to provide high‑attentive, accurate customer service. Complete all product specialist certification courses. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of merchandise and installation. Organize department merchandising, pricing, and presentation. Communicate standard operating procedures and changes to all associates promptly. Complete industrial truck (forklift) proficiency testing and certification. Communicate inventory needs to management. Assist merchandise processing to the showroom floor. Validate product placement and pricing within the department. Greet every customer courteously and assist with product questions and selections. Process customers at checkout using the POS system, including refunds and exchanges. Present how‑to classes to customers. Follow cash, check, and charge‑card acceptance procedures. Answer phone calls per company guidelines. Stock and tag merchandise displays as required. Create price tags and merchandise signs. Physical/Sensory Requirements Ability to exert 30–60pounds of force occasionally, and 20–30pounds frequently, with potential to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 20pounds continuously. Frequent standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling is required. The work environment is moderately to loudly noisy and involves warehouse activity. Working Conditions Employees are frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level is typically moderate to noisy.
