Investments Analyst

Job Description:

This position will provide critical support to the Finance team during a period of transition and will take ownership of recurring investment accounting, portfolio reporting, liquidity monitoring, ALCO support, and regulatory reporting activities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of investment accounting and financial analysis. This person should be comfortable working independently, managing deadlines, and stepping into an existing process with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage and reconcile investment-related transactions, ensuring appropriate documentation, approvals, and pre-purchase analysis are completed.
• Monitor and analyze the organization's investment portfolio, including transaction activity, balances, income, yields, and other portfolio metrics.
• Work with brokers and internal stakeholders related to investment activity and portfolio management.
• Prepare materials and reporting for weekly Asset Liability Committee meetings, including supporting analysis and presentations.
• Monitor daily cash balances and identify and communicate significant fluctuations or liquidity concerns.
• Prepare and validate monthly investment and financial reports.
• Maintain accurate and confidential financial information while following established policies and regulatory requirements.

Ideal Background

• 3+ years of relevant experience, ideally within a bank, credit union, investment organization, or other financial institution.
• Experience with investment accounting, portfolio analysis, or treasury/investment functions strongly preferred.
• Understanding of investment transactions, securities, yields, broker relationships, and financial institution reporting.
