About the Role As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will provide essential care, guidance, and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental health needs. Key Responsibilities Assist individuals in achieving their personal goals through daily support and engagement. Follow person-centered and behavior support plans to ensure the highest quality of care. Maintain a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for residents. Build trusting relationships with individuals under your care. Prepare meals according to dietary guidelines and assist with meal planning. Provide transportation, attend appointments, and advocate on behalf of residents. Support residents with laundry and maintain a clean living environment. Administer medications as needed and ensure compliance with care plans. Remain awake and accessible in homes that require 24/7 supervision. Why Join Us? May need to transport individuals in a staff vehicle. May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset individuals, family members, personnel, and visitors. Exposure to dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, air contaminants, bloodborne pathogens (including TB and Hepatitis B viruses), and hazardous chemicals may occur. Qualifications & Requirements (With or without the aid of mechanical devices) Must be CPR Certified. Must have a Valid CNA. CNA experience in bariatric, trauma-informed, lymphedema, hospice, safe patient transfers and wound care preferred. Experience with varying staffing ratios (I.e. 1:1, 2:1, 4:1 etc) Must be able to pass a criminal background study with The Department of Human Services. Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal). Ability to handle mental and emotional challenges with professionalism. Must meet company health requirements and be able to work with individuals with varying disabilities and conditions. Must be able to push, pull, or carry a minimum of 80 lbs over 10 feet.
