Details Work in the Surgical ICU unit of a hospital setting 26-bed unit staffed with RNs, a charge nurse, and a patient care tech on both day and night shifts Patient ratios of 1:2, with 1:1 for high acuity patients including post-CABG cases (ratios are estimated, not guaranteed) Patient population includes trauma, post-CABG, post-TAVR, and general post-surgical ICU patients Performs procedures such as chest tube management, central line care, and medication drip administration Uses specialized equipment including balloon pumps, CRRT, hypothermia units, and ECMO Utilizes Meditech EMR system Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM 13-week assignment length Requirements Active KS or compact RN license required Minimum 1 year of current acute care hospital ICU experience required Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required TNCC certification preferred Prior experience traveling to large trauma facilities preferred US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more within the past 12 months Additional Information Provide critical care nursing to a high-acuity surgical ICU population Best suited for driven, organized, and efficient individuals with a positive and engaged attitude Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position American Traveler Job ID P-737185.
