Mechanical Designer II

Mechanical Designer IIMechanical Designer II will prepare complex drawings on a variety of projects involving mechanical components for natural gas, hydrocarbon and industrial projects. Primary responsibilities include creating detailed 3D models and producing two-dimensional construction drawings including plans, sections, elevations, details, bills of material and isometrics from the models under the direction of an engineer.This position assists the engineering discipline, leads and directs drafters as needed to keep projects on task and on schedule. Coordinate with other managers, engineers and designers in completing project assignments. This position is an office based role that is located in Derwent, Ohio.ResponsibilitiesIndependently design small and large projects with ability to adapt to changes in scope and design of facilityTrain new or inexperienced employeesCommunication between all disciplines with cross discipline knowledge to recognize issues within the design.Explaining and presenting design concept to stakeholders.QualificationsAssociate's Degree or Certificate in CAD, Drafting or Design from an accredited vocational school, college or university.5+ years of experience using AutoCAD and CADWorx software for Oil and Gas Mechanical designKnowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations for the Oil and Gas industryWork safely on active construction sites.25-50% travel requiredOccasionally required to lift and carry 50 pounds or lessMust be physically able to stand for long periods of time and/or walk long distances on varied surfaces.Must be physically able to work outdoors under all weather conditions and terrain.Must be able to sit for extended periods of time in front of a computer.Other:Familiarity with Leica laser scan equipment and softwareGround Penetrating Radar experience using GSSI equipmentLine locating experience using RadioDetection equipmentAutodesk Civil 3D experienceLeica CloudWorx experienceCurrent FAA Part 107 certificationAssociates degree or higher in Drafting & Design, Engineering Technology or related field
