Our services enable high-profile AWS customers to deliver some of the largest live events on the planet. We work with existing standards like LL-HLS, and are innovating beyond them with emerging protocols like Sye and Media over QUIC (MOQ) to make it possible for viewers to experience live events in near real-time. Our scope spans the full video delivery stack, from origin to edge, solving challenges in real-time content packaging, adaptive bitrate streaming, and scalable delivery.As part of the Media & Entertainment team, you will own the design and delivery of highly available, globally distributed systems that serve video with low latency, high throughput, and reliability. You will collaborate with teams across AWS to push the boundaries of video streaming technologies, and you will help grow the engineers around you through mentorship and knowledge sharing. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.Key job responsibilitiesIn this role you will be doing hands-on coding, helping to build distributed scalable systems impacting hundreds of AWS customers. You will: - Design, build, and operate distributed systems that deliver video on a global scale. - Drive technical strategy and architecture decisions for video delivery infrastructure. - Own the full software development lifecycle — from requirements through deployment and operations. - Explore and apply AI/ML-driven approaches to optimize video delivery and quality of experience.- Leverage AI assisted development for fast prototyping, design and coding. You should have a solid understanding of distributed, scalable systems, experience in building complex software that has been successfully delivered to customers, and a thorough understanding of internet protocols such as DNS, TCP, and UDP. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
