Job Description

Job Summary:
The Preop RN is responsible for preparing patients for surgical procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety. The role involves assessing patient needs, providing education, and coordinating with surgical teams to facilitate smooth operations.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' preoperative health status and document findings accurately.
• Educate patients about their upcoming procedures, including post-op care instructions.
• Prepare patients physically and emotionally for surgery, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to coordinate patient care plans.
• Monitor patient responses and address any concerns or issues prior to surgery.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures.

Qualifications:

• Possess an active and valid RN license.
• Hold at least 1 year of recent experience in perioperative or preoperative nursing.
• Demonstrate strong assessment and clinical skills.
• Exhibit excellent communication and patient education abilities.
• Be knowledgeable of preoperative protocols and safety standards.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment.
