With over $2.8 billion in annual sales and a commitment to its workforce, Kokosing is the winning team.Job Description:Environmental Manager – Mid-West RegionThe Environmental Manager supports the Senior Environmental Director and operates both independently and collaboratively to deliver environmental services across Kokosing companies. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable environmental regulations, promoting safe work practices, supporting industrial hygiene initiatives, and contributing to the development and growth of the company’s sustainability program.Key ResponsibilitiesEnvironmental ComplianceDevelop, implement, and conduct environmental inspections, including but not limited to:Industrial Stormwater programs and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWP3)Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans, including site inspections and auditsState Emergency Response Commission (SERC) reporting and compliance auditsResource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) hazardous materials and universal waste managementEnvironmental permit compliance evaluationsProvide guidance, direction, and coaching to project teams regarding environmental requirements and best practicesPrepare and submit environmental compliance reports to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholdersConduct environmental audits, analyses, and performance reporting for both internal and external clientsSupport or provide direction for field sampling, laboratory analysis, emissions testing, and environmental observationsDeliver environmental training programs to enhance workforce knowledge and program effectivenessStay current on regulatory changes and industry practices by attending conferences, seminars, and professional development opportunitiesMaintain flexibility to work non-standard hours, including weekends, and travel as neededSafetySupport and reinforce company safety policies and procedures in conjunction with environmental responsibilitiesIdentify safety hazards associated with environmental activities and the implementation of Best Management Practices (BMPs)Promote safe behaviors and address at-risk actions observed in the fieldSustainabilityAssist in the development and implementation of sustainability strategies and initiatives across the organizationServe as an internal resource on emerging sustainability trends, frameworks, and industry benchmarks within the construction sectorIndustrial HygieneApply knowledge of industrial hygiene principles, practices, and proceduresRecognize when environmental conditions require additional industrial hygiene or safety controlsProvide jobsite support related to environmental monitoring and industrial hygiene assessmentsQualifications3–10 years of relevant environmental, health, and safety (EHS) experience, preferably in construction or a related industryStrong working knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance requirementsDemonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to effectively communicate EHS policies and procedures across all organizational levelsProactive, solution-oriented approach to identifying and addressing compliance issuesStrong organizational and project management capabilitiesBenefits:Kokosing offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including medical, life, and disability insurance, paid time off and a 401K plan.Kokosing is an equal employment opportunity/affirmative action federal and state contractor.
