Role Description

The Certified Medical Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. This team member supports nephrologists by check-in/checkt-out patients, preparing exam rooms, taking and documenting vital signs, updating medical histories, and assisting with patient examinations and procedures. The Certified Medical Assistant helps maintain a clean, safe clinical environment, supports patient education on kidney disease and hypertension, and collaborates with the care team to provide efficient, compassionate service.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Proficiency in routine clinical tasks such as vital signs measurement, venipuncture, EKGs, specimen handling, and assisting with examinations and procedures.
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems, accurate documentation, and basic medical terminology related to internal medicine and nephrology.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and clinical staff in a respectful and professional manner.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize patient needs, maintain confidentiality, and follow clinical protocols and infection control standards.
• Demonstrated reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to patient-centered care; prior experience in nephrology or internal medicine is a plus.
• Basic computer skills (email, scheduling software, data entry) and comfort working in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
