About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Endoscopy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 2 years minimum required License: Active state RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Traveler must stay within 30 minutes of the facility to respond to calls as expected. Weekend shifts are required every third weekend. On-call duty is required, but the traveler will need to float within scope only if necessary. Description: This position is for an Endoscopy RN. The shift is from 06:30 to 15:00. If working in the procedure suite, the expected patient ratio is 1:1. In pre-op and discharge, the patient ratio can be 4:1. The facility accepts first-time travelers. Travelers must have a minimum of two years of experience. Required certifications include BLS and ACLS. The facility prefers travelers with experience in endoscopic procedures, airway management, sedation, and IV management. Travelers should be prepared for hurricane season, which runs from June through November. During this time, all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams if necessary. The unit provides scrubs in navy blue and utilizes the Epic charting system. There is support from various interdisciplinary services including pharmacy and rapid response teams. The daily census is approximately 15 patients with an average of 15 visits per day. Special procedures include colonoscopies, EGDs, ERCPs, and EUS. Travelers should ensure that all compliance processes are completed in a timely manner. Travelers should be aware of potential call-offs as the facility may call off one shift every two weeks. RTO must be included at the time of submission, and any changes after submission may not be taken into consideration. The facility prioritizes candidates with the required active state license.
