Sr Software Engineer

Senior Software Engineer, Test Automation (Medical Device/Digital Health)Join a client-focused team developing and verifying web and mobile applications that support therapy delivery, patient engagement, and clinical outcomes in a regulated medical device environment. This role leads quality engineering and test automation efforts to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant digital health solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and execute automated testing solutions for web, mobile, APIs, microservices, and integrated systems.Create test strategies, plans, reusable automation frameworks, and traceable verification documentation.Validate frontend applications, backend services, databases, APIs, and end-to-end system functionality.Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and establish quality gates.Participate in requirements reviews, design reviews, defect triage, and risk assessments.Investigate complex issues, document findings, and drive corrective actions.Maintain audit-ready documentation and mentor engineers on automation best practices.QualificationsBachelor's degree with 6+ years of experience, or Master's degree with 4+ years of experience.Experience in software development or test engineering for production applications.Strong automation development skills in Java and JavaScript.Hands-on experience testing web and mobile applications.Knowledge of source control, defect tracking, build pipelines, and CI/CD tools.Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience with Selenium, Appium, Cypress, Playwright, REST-assured, JUnit, or TestNG.Knowledge of microservices, REST APIs, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and containerized test environments.Experience working in regulated environments with requirements traceability, risk-based testing, configuration management, and audit-ready documentation.Technical leadership and mentoring experience.Must-Have Skills: Java, JavaScript, Selenium, Microservices, Test Automation, Web Application TestingNice-to-Have Skills: Kotlin, Appium, Playwright, Cypress, REST-assured, JUnit, TestNG, Spring, JPA, Hibernate, Angular, RxJS, ActiveMQ, Amazon SQS, Kafka, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL, AWS, Azure, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Containerized Testing, Risk-Based Testing, Requirements Traceability, Defect Management, Technical Leadership, Mentoring.EOE Statement: Specialist Staffing Group is an equal opportunity employer.
