Inhospital Physicians is actively recruiting Emergency Medicine physicians for St. Mary’s Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri . This is a community-based Emergency Department offering a strong team environment, manageable patient volume, and the opportunity to practice high-quality medicine without the chaos of large academic centers.

This role is ideal for physicians seeking stability, autonomy, and a collegial culture while maintaining exposure to meaningful clinical cases.

• 1099 independent contractor position
• 12-hour shifts
• Full-time: 120 hours per month
• Competitive hourly compensation

• ~54 patients per day
• Cath lab available

• Cardiac conditions
• Sepsis
• Stroke
• Respiratory illness
• Gastrointestinal complaints

• 1 Emergency Medicine physician on shift
• 2 APPs during the day
• 1 physician coverage overnight
• Admissions managed by hospitalist team

• EMR: Epic with Dragon dictation
  
• Anesthesia support:

• Community hospital setting with a small team feel
• Long-tenured, collegial medical staff
• Strong nursing and administrative support
• Efficient transfer system for subspecialty care when needed

• Board Certified / Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM preferred)
• Will consider ABFM with 2+ years of Emergency Medicine experience or EM fellowship training
• Active or eligible for Missouri medical license
• Comfortable with moderate acuity and transfer workflows

• Stable, team-oriented environment with low turnover
• Manageable volume and acuity mix
• Flexibility within a multi-site system
• Opportunity to focus on patient care without academic or administrative burden

• Limited in-house specialty coverage (ENT, Urology, etc.)
• Transfer coordination required for certain cases
• Catholic hospital system (certain procedures not performed)
