Summary of the Role

As Director of Cybersecurity at Calamos, you will serve as the CISO's right hand, executing the comprehensive security strategy and acting as the operational backbone of our Information Security Program. This high‑impact, individual‑contributor leadership role involves owning day‑to‑day security operations to protect billions in assets and sensitive financial data from sophisticated cyber threats.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Technical information security systems management, including endpoint protection, application control, email security, firewalls, vulnerability management, data loss prevention, cloud security services, and security information and event management.
  • Manage the firmwide cybersecurity incident response program.
  • Manage the vulnerability management program and technology risk management program.
  • Provide subject‑matter expertise on information security matters to Calamos technologists, business associates, managers, and executives.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with managed and/or professional information security services firms.
  • Lead information security projects and enhancement efforts.
  • Contribute to the development of Calamos information security awareness program.
  • Contribute to the development of Calamos information security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Provide input to the development of Calamos information security strategy and other cybersecurity and technology planning efforts.
  • Stay abreast of relevant information‑security threats, news, and technologies.
  • Respond to high‑severity security alerts that may occur off hours, including nights or weekends.
  • Respond to escalated cybersecurity help‑desk tickets and participate in disaster recovery planning activities.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional information security or cybersecurity experience is required; experience and interest in financial services is required.
  • Technical or professional certifications are preferred.
  • Advanced degree in Information Security or equivalent is desirable.
  • Minimum one year’s experience managing delivery of cybersecurity services in an enterprise environment is desirable.
  • Minimum two years’ professional experience in financial services or business consulting industry is highly preferred.
  • Interest in financial services industry and demonstrable passion for technology is required.
  • Firewall administration / management experience and cyber incident management experience is preferred.
  • Project‑management experience with the ability to successfully complete projects on time and within budget is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies including Defender, Entra, Intune, Sentinel, and Azure strongly preferred.

Compensation Disclosure

The estimated base salary range for this position is $150,000 – $165,000. The position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
