The Drafter/Designer III is responsible for developing conceptual designs, reviewing drawings, and providing support to the engineering team. This position designs project-specific items to be manufactured by our Company and other companies. This position will facilitate internal workflow, as required. This position collaborates in person and remotely with Project Management and Engineering professionals to develop design concepts and engineering documents.

Your responsibilities will be:

• Receives, reviews, and interprets project requirements and design information including but not limited to Scope of Work (SOW), Engineering Specification Reviews (ESR), Calculations, Placement Sketch, Construction Notes, Controls Component Spec (& Control's location on vessel), and Internals order forms to complete designs.
• Provides a timely and accurate response to all inquiries.
• Interact closely with both Project Engineers and Manufacturing Personnel to meet customer needs.
• Produces 3D Parts, Assemblies, and Layouts created in CAD, General Arrangement (GA) and Fabrication drawings, Bills of Materials, and prototype designs to support customer requirements, using Pro/E Creo (version 5 or later) for drafting and design purposes.
• Makes necessary corrections to existing drawings following quality review process.
• Determines appropriate methods to create drawings using either a CAD template customized to the client's requirements, a standard template designed for the specific type of work, or by updating an existing CAD file.
• Reviews drawings from other drafters to ensure alignment with scoping and corporate drafting standards.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Required qualifications:

• Associate degree in Drafting or CAD Technology.
• 3-5 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above (8 years of demonstrated experience in a mechanical engineering field in lieu of degree).
• Working knowledge & experience with Pro/E Creo (version 5 or later) is required.
• Have a basic understanding of welding processes, callouts, and applications.

Preferred qualifications:

• Familiarity with Creo Sheetmetal design is a plus.
• Prior experience in Engineering design, and ASME Pressure vessel manufacturing industry is helpful.
• Having a basic understanding of controls and instrumentation, and the ability to take concepts to design is also a plus.

Travel requirements:

• Incumbents are expected to travel as needed to support assigned business lines(s) and must have the ability to travel across borders.
• Valid Driver's License required.

ADA requirements:

• This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
• Concentrated mental and/or visual attention. The work involves performing complex tasks to very close accuracy and quality specifications, or a high degree of hand and eye coordination for sustained periods.
• The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable elements are generally absent during normal performance of job.
• Compliance with company attendance standards.
• Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
