Magnetic Resonance Imaging MRI Technologist

Job Summary Operates an MRI scanner to obtain images used for diagnosing and treating pathologies. Primary Responsibilities Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters to produce high-quality cross-sectional images. Performs patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination. Enters, monitors, and transfers patient data and images. Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within accepted scope of practice and applicable regulations. Ensures prompt submission of all images and documents to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers, patient data/history). Ensures equipment is properly functioning and reports problems or malfunctions to appropriate personnel. Assists in maintaining a clean, orderly department (procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area, etc.). Works in a constant state of alertness and safety. Performs other duties as assigned. Education Completion of a MRI or Radiology Technology program. Experience No experience required. Physical Requirements Constant standing and walking. Frequent use of vision and depth perception for near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances. Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information. Frequent lifting or carrying objects weighing 0–25 lbs.; lifting/moving patients; reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry. Occasional lifting/carrying or pushing/pulling objects weighing 25–50 lbs.; occasional use of vision to identify colors; occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. Rare kneeling and sitting. Location Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin. Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA) ARRT-MR Magnetic Resonance Imaging or ARMRIT – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Shift & Hours Day Shift.
