Authorization Coordinator

Responsible for verifying patient eligibility and coordinating benefits, the full-time remote Authorization Coordinator will ensure insurance coverage and determine the need for prior authorization, while documenting processes in the electronic medical record and responding to patient inquiries. Key responsibilities Verify patient eligibility and coordinate benefits for insurance coverage Obtain prior authorization as needed and document in the patient electronic medical record Facilitate responses to patient inquiries regarding authorizations within established turnaround standards Required qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent education/experience One year of experience in a healthcare setting Knowledge of medical terminology and coding (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-9) Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel and Word Ability to maintain composure during challenging interpersonal interactions
