Electrical Journeyman

Job Description

An electrical Journeyman installs, upgrades, renovates, and completes assigned electrical duties to produce the product requested by an owner or general contractor. At designated times, a Journeyman will direct the on-the-job electrical training of apprentices, coordination of multiple work fronts, and coordination with other designated construction trades.

Wage: Will be based on experience and knowledge

Essential Functions:

  • Read and interpret diagrams and blueprints to ensure accurate installation and compliance with design specifications.
  • Installation of electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Terminate and set switchgear, panels, and other distribution equipment.
  • Installation of conduit PVC, EMT, IMC, RMC.
  • Layout and install wiring circuits.
  • Trace out short circuits in wiring, along with troubleshooting other electrical issues.
  • Perform electrical repairs.
  • Maintain tools and equipment.
  • Identify, evaluate, and address deficiencies in electrical designs.
  • Mentor/Assist in training of electrical apprentices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Education: Apprenticeship program in electrical work or equivalent experience in the electrical field.

Licensing: Valid Driver’s License

Technical Skills: Proficiency in using electrical tools and diagnostic equipment, as well as a strong understanding of electrical systems and components.

Experience: Proven Experience as an electrician, with a solid understanding of National Electrical Code and common safety practices.
