Direct Support Professional

Chrysalis is hiring a Direct Support Professional in Sandy, Utah, for a meaningful opportunity to help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities build greater independence and enjoy a fulfilling everyday life.

Schedule: Swing shifts
Pay: $15.00 to $17.75 per hour

As a Residential Direct Support Professional, you will provide hands-on assistance in a supportive home environment. You will help each person develop practical skills, make choices, participate in activities, and work toward personal goals.

This is not a sit-back-and-watch kind of job. Each shift requires you to be awake, attentive, dependable, and ready to respond. You may help prepare a meal, teach a household skill, support someone with medication, plan an activity, complete documentation, or calmly assist during a challenging moment.

• Teach daily living skills, plan meaningful activities, and create opportunities for individuals to become more confident and independent.

• Follow person-centered support plans, behavioral plans, supervision guidelines, and medication procedures while respecting each person’s choices.

• Maintain a clean and safe home, complete documentation accurately and on time, and promptly communicate needs or concerns to the Residential Manager.

• Be at least 18 years old, communicate effectively in English, attend work consistently, and demonstrate sound judgment in stressful or safety-sensitive situations.

• Be able to walk, sit, bend, stoop, reach, lift or move up to 35 pounds, assist with the physical support of an adult when necessary, and complete required training and certifications.

A Direct Support Professional plays a direct role in each person’s safety, stability, and quality of life. Your consistency can help someone master a new skill, participate more fully in the community, or experience greater control over their own routine.

Chrysalis provides paid training to help you learn the procedures and support strategies required for the role. You will also work with a Residential Manager and other team members who share responsibility for providing dependable, individualized support.
