As an RN, you will monitor and coordinate all nursing and medical care of patients in the absence of the Director of Nursing. This role is responsible for providing medical services directly to patients and maintaining the appropriate records and medical files per state and federal regulations. Pay Range: $35 to $40/hr depending on experience. Requirements: Registered Nurse in the state of employment, CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) certification, the ability to triage in an emergency, assisting with nurses in medical emergencies.

Preferred: Prior experience with chemical addiction and/or mental health disease including psychopharmacology, minimum of one (1) year experience working in substance abuse and/or mental health field, three (3) year experience with chemical addiction and/or mental disorders including psych pharmacotherapy.

Responsibilities include screening and assessing each patient for co-existing medical problems to assess risk factors affecting appropriate placement for treatment, administering medications/treatments as ordered in accordance with state and federal regulations, ensuring that adequate recording of the medication administration transaction has occurred, ensuring that the treatment plan of the physician and/or medical director is being followed, facilitating and educating patients in a group process to include chemical dependency issues, infectious disease, medical and mental health issues, administering, interpreting, and keeping accurate documentation of Mantoux test for teammates, assessing patient response to treatments and medications, interactions, and effectiveness, documenting and summarizing individual nursing care for each patient and communicating changes, progress, and/or immediate medical care needs to the provider for follow-up consultation, ordering medical supplies, maintaining a proper inventory and record of use as per Regulations, maintaining all medical records including individual charts, daily medication charts, dosage records, progress notes, doctor's orders, etc., as required, making appointments for patients to see physician; obtaining lab workups and checks with patients to see that appointments are kept, counseling patients regarding personal hygiene, abnormal lab results, HIV/AIDS testing, and all medical matters including changes in treatment, discussing with physician and team important changes in treatment or noted patterns of behavior affecting treatment, providing referral for specialized care at local health centers (e.g., Planned Parenthood, prenatal clinic, HIV/AIDS testing sites, etc.) and following-up on patients' attendance and treatment, assisting in organizing transfers of patients to and from different levels of care, assisting in training teammates in medical conditions, responses, and patient care, maintaining continuing education credits as required by the Board of Nursing, attending team meetings and completing all training courses timely as required, assisting doctor during physical examinations, keeping medication room clean and orderly; maintaining medical equipment, attending team meetings and completing all training courses timely as required, and other duties as assigned.
