Job Description
This role involves interfacing directly with project management, client leadership, engineering, construction, scheduling, and project controls teams to ensure accurate project financial tracking and reporting throughout the project lifecycle. Using a variety of industry and proprietary software tools, including Primavera P6, SAP, and advanced Excel reporting tools, you will perform the following responsibilities:
Implement project controls tools, cost management methodologies, and reporting processes
Develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
Track project expenditures, commitments, accruals, and earned value performance metrics
Analyze project financial performance and identify cost trends, risks, and variances
Support forecasting efforts and provide corrective action recommendations when required
Partner with project schedulers to develop integrated cost and schedule performance reporting
Assist with contingency management and risk analysis activities
Provide regular project updates and communicate deviations from approved project baselines
Support month-end closing activities and project phase gate reviews
Produce cash flow forecasts, earned value reports, and executive-level cost summaries
Assemble supporting documentation for project teams and client reporting needs
Analyze large datasets and build reports to support project monitoring and decision making
Interface regularly with project management to support project performance and financial health
Ensure standardized file structures and reporting documentation are maintained
Support client meetings, project reviews, and coordination efforts as needed
Potential travel to client offices or project sites for coordination meetings and project support

The Successful Applicant
Essential skills and experience:
Experience supporting project controls and cost management functions on large capital projects
Strong proficiency in cost forecasting, budgeting, earned value management (EVM), and variance analysis
Familiarity with Primavera P6 and integrated project controls environments
7+ years of project controls, cost analysis, or capital project experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface with project teams, clients, and vendors
Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivots, lookups, dashboards, and reporting tools
Experience using financial systems, databases, and reporting platforms
Valued but not required skills and experience:
Experience supporting utility, power delivery, nuclear, or infrastructure projects
Knowledge of earned value management systems and project performance metrics
SAP, Power BI, Tableau, or other reporting/dashboard experience
AACE certifications such as CCP, CEP, EVP, PSP, or PMI equivalent certifications
Experience supporting EPC or utility client environments
