Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary:

The TRAVEL - RN - MEDICAL SURGICAL/NEURO - COST CENTER 611 / 7:00PM - 7:00AM position provides comprehensive, patient-centered care for a Med/Surg neuro population. The RN coordinates bedside assessment, documentation, and timely interventions while supporting patients and families through the plan of care.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients and monitor vital signs, telemetry, continuous pulse oximetry, and response to treatment
• Prioritize care using strong clinical judgment and multitasking in a fast-paced unit environment
• Initiate IV therapy and manage ordered therapies using IV pumps, feeding pumps, and PCA as applicable
• Perform and support basic wound care, including care of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Deliver attentive, compassionate bedside shift reporting and partner with patients and families in care planning
• Document accurately in Meditech and communicate changes promptly to the care team

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license
• Maintain current BLS certification
• Demonstrate at least 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
• Show competence with IV starts and bedside procedures for common Med/Surg devices and support equipment
• Exhibit the ability to prioritize care, multitask, and start/maintain therapies safely
• Provide evidence of strong patient experience skills, including compassionate communication with patients and families
