Test Technician

This Test Technician role supports the testing, verification, and troubleshooting of electronic boards and assemblies used in medical diagnostic devices. You will focus on bench-level electrical testing of analog, digital, mixed-signal, RF, and Doppler ultrasound electronics, working hands-on at the PCB level on a day shift schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional, performance, and verification testing of electronic printed circuit boards (PCBs) and subassemblies in accordance with documented procedures.
• Test analog, digital, mixed-signal, RF, and Doppler ultrasound PCBs and subassemblies to ensure they meet design and quality requirements.
• Use electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), voltmeters, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, and other test instruments to execute test activities.
• Execute test protocols accurately, record measurements, and document test results thoroughly and clearly in the required formats.
• Identify test failures, anomalies, or nonconformances and document and report them to engineering and quality teams in a timely manner.
• Assist with debugging and troubleshooting failing PCBs at the board and component level using schematics, test procedures, and diagnostic tools.
• Perform basic PCB modifications and rework, including component replacement, soldering, desoldering, and jumper installation, to support testing and verification.
• Verify proper operation of power supplies, analog signal paths, digital logic circuits, and other critical electronic functions on boards and assemblies.
• Follow electrostatic discharge (ESD) control procedures during handling, testing, and inspection of electronic assemblies to protect sensitive components.
• Maintain organized and clean test stations, ensuring proper setup, calibration, storage, and care of test equipment and tools.
• Support incoming inspection activities by testing and verifying electronic components and assemblies received from suppliers as assigned.
• Support production testing and validation testing efforts, including executing test plans and protocols for new or existing products.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to provide feedback on test results, recurring issues, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Adhere to all documented test procedures, work instructions, and quality standards in a structured, quality-focused environment.

• Practical, hands-on experience testing electronic circuits or printed circuit boards (PCBs).
• Ability to read and understand electronic schematics, test procedures, and technical documentation.
• Proficiency with common electronic test instruments, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), voltmeters, and signal generators.
• Experience using test equipment such as spectrum analyzers and logic analyzers for electronic testing and debugging.
• Basic soldering skills and PCB rework experience, including component replacement and jumper installation.
• Strong electronics troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving issues at the board and component level.
• Familiarity with analog and digital electronics fundamentals and their application in PCB-level testing.
• Hands-on experience handling, testing, and inspecting PCBs and electronic assemblies in a lab or production environment.
• Ability to follow detailed test procedures and accurately document test results and observations.
• Comfort working in a structured, quality-focused environment with defined processes and standards.
• Understanding and consistent application of ESD control practices when working with electronic assemblies.

• Associate degree in electronics, a technical certificate in electronics, or equivalent hands-on experience in electronics.
• Experience with calibration, setup, and proper use of electronic test equipment.
• Experience in electronics repair or maintenance, including board-level troubleshooting and repair.
• Experience working with circuit boards and printed circuit board assemblies in a production or test environment.
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and perform basic wiring tasks as part of testing or rework.
• Experience executing structured test procedures and test protocols in a regulated or quality-driven setting.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for maintaining orderly test stations and accurate records.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve issues and improve processes.

Work Environment

You will work in a small electronics company environment with dedicated work benches shared by test technicians and electronic assemblers. The facility is not a modern, high-gloss lab, but it maintains a practical, hands-on setting where people are valued and treated with respect. Your day shift runs from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., supporting a stable and predictable schedule. You will regularly use bench-level electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, voltmeters, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, and other test tools. Work areas follow ESD control practices, and you will spend most of your time at the bench performing electronic testing, troubleshooting, and basic rework in a calm, quality-focused environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of BEAVERTON, OR.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
