Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Step Down Unit located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This position involves providing high-quality patient care to adult and geriatric patients on a step-down unit, with an emphasis on respiratory and cardiovascular monitoring. Candidates are required to bring their valid Oklahoma or Compact RN license on the first day. This is the first travel assignment for eligible candidates, with a focus on weekend coverage and night shifts.

Job Details:

• Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid Oklahoma or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license; 0 years of experience (or equivalent); BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications in hand at the time of submittal; experience with charting system Epic; experience working in a community hospital setting preferred
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Skills: Accessing and managing ports, arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management and maintenance, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), feeding tube care and management, FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation, PPE and isolation precautions, insulin protocols, management of cardiac drips without titration, management of dysrhythmias, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration and tanks, pacemaker management, peripheral line and PICC line care, post myocardial infarction (MI) and post TPA care, pre/post cardiac catheterization, pre/post hemodialysis, procedural sedation, management of renal failure and seizure disorders, starting and maintaining IVs, substance withdrawal, surgical drain management, telemetry monitoring, tracheostomy care, rapid response and code team use, wound care and vacuum dressing management.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience, community hospital experience.
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
• Patient Census: Approximately 25 patients daily, with an average of 10 visits per day
• Additional Details: Unit support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretary. Patients with respiratory failure, A-Fib with RVR, sepsis, or COPD are prevalent.
• Float: Float rotation may be required, with brief orientation provided on units as needed.
• Travel and Submittal Requirements: RTO (requested time off) must be listed at submittal; valid Oklahoma or Compact RN license required; allied license if applicable; local radius is 75 miles; travel experience not required, but candidates must adhere to all compliance and licensing requirements.
