Shop Foreman

Seeking a commercial roofing Shop Foreman to manage daily yard and shop operations, oversee equipment and material logistics including material/consumable stock inventory and equipment/tools maintenance.

Position Summary

The Commercial Roofing Shop Foreman coordinates material loading, equipment maintenance, and tool tracking to support commercial roofing field operations. This role bridges office management and field execution by ensuring crews receive the right supplies, safe gear, and maintained equipment on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Inventory & Material Management: Stock, organize, and deliver roofing materials as required/directed by the Director of Operations.
• Equipment & Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee maintenance and repairs for company vehicles, trailers, kettles, torches, generators, pace carts/patriot machines and power tools. Ensure equipment is properly inspecting when coming off a project and prior to going out to a new project. Diagnose, clean, maintain, and repair small engine equipment (e.g., generators, saws, compressors, and power tools).
• Tool Tracking Management: Oversee the checking in/out of tools to Foreman and keep a log
• Shop Operations & Logistics: Coordinate daily loading and unloading of trucks, ensuring materials are properly labeled per project.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce OSHA safety guidelines and company policies within the shop and yard, including proper material storage and hazard communication.
• Facility Maintenance: Ensure that the sprinklers are set to turn on/off as needed, empty dehumidifiers in the building, keep water stocked for crews and ensure the grounds are kept tidy. Assist with processing waste and scrap material and performing general facilities maintenance.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: At least 1-2 years in a mechanic or shop-management role.
• System Knowledge: Familiarity with commercial roofing materials, accessories, and safe handling of chemicals or hot asphalt.
• Certifications: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to operate a forklift. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification a plus.
• Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 90 lbs and work in an active warehouse/yard environment.
• Skills: Basic computer literacy for inventory tracking, strong organizational abilities, and effective communication. Proven ability to troubleshoot, clean, and repair small gasoline engines and common construction power tools.
• Pre-Employment Screening: Successful completion of a comprehensive background check and drug screening is mandatory prior to employment.

Type: Full-time

Hours: 6:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday (daily schedule may vary slightly based on project delivery needs).
