Project Manager

Project Manager (PM) Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the delivery of the Command Center Software (CCSW) HW/SW platform migration tasks and will act as the leader/focal point for all aspects of assigned projects. Responsible for delivering contractual scope on schedule and within budget while maintaining customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities A project manager is accountable for accomplishing the stated project objectives within the stipulated time period and budget. This includes ensuring that the three constraints (quality, cost and time) are properly managed. Leads programs or portions of very complex programs and directs and coordinates the work activities of the project team. Demonstrates a firm understanding of all nine areas of PMBOK project management and has expertise in two areas, and is experienced in running project phases. Oversees development of the complete project plan, establishes, tracks, and audits project budgets, analyzes variances, and develops action plans as required. Represents the organization on projects and may perform a project leadership role. Manages project staff including reporting, administration, and communication. Planned and tracked deliverables and coordinated internal resources and third parties/vendors for flawless execution. Facilitates definition of project scope and objectives with stakeholders and ensures technical feasibility. Works with scheduling and engineering management teams to ensure resource availability and allocation. Develops a project plan to monitor and track progress. Manages and communicates changes to scope, schedule, and costs. Measures project performance using appropriate tools and techniques. Reports and escalates to management as needed. Manages relationships of all project resources. Identifies and communicates defects to appropriate product planners for quality and reliability issues that impact upgrades. Supports and drives project close‑out tasks, ensuring successful project upgrade. Leads and drives efficiency by using tools that support Project Management best practices. Looks for ways to continuously improve Project Management efficiencies and drives those efficiencies. Applies aggressive/creative problem‑solving skills and the ability to get things done in a multi‑organizational environment. Travels to customer locations for on‑site upgrades. Has strong knowledge of Motorola Solutions Astro 25 Public Safety systems, which is a plus. Collaborates with other resource managers on the team to plan project deliverables. Leads the project's discussions. Builds and maintains positive, effective, and mutually beneficial alliances with customers. Tailors and applies change management, working with customers and engineering teams when implementing solutions, including third‑party applications. Drives process improvement and best practices. Qualifications BA/BS degree with 5+ years of experience in project/program management or services management. PMP highly desired; CAPM or PM Masters Certificate is a plus. Understanding of Motorola Solutions software organization and deployment of those software solutions; experience with Public Safety communications, Military communications, Civil construction, or IT Networks. Ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by local, state, and federal government contracts, which include criminal and financial background investigations. Experience leading highly complex projects. Excellent presentation skills are required. Ability to apply critical thinking skills to make decisions, troubleshoot issues, identify mitigation strategies, and exercise good judgment in the selection of methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Ability to work collaboratively with all team members. Ability to effectively communicate with relevant peers and senior stakeholders. Strong verbal and written skills; fluency in English. Proficient in Google Suite; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) is a plus. Strong aggressive/creative problem‑solving, negotiation, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and requires successful passing of a stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.
