Physician Job

Physicians provide and manage direct medical evaluation, diagnosis, procedures, and care for Partners. Key responsibilities include evaluating patients, obtaining and studying medical histories, documenting patient and clinical records, assessing patients, understanding patient medical history, assessing physical health, examining as needed, evaluating the effectiveness of current care methods and procedures and suggesting improvements, educating and counseling patients, explaining treatment plans, promoting physical health and wellness, prescribing, administering, and dispensing medications and treatment regimens in compliance with state and federal statutes, ordering laboratory and radiology tests, referring patients to specialists as appropriate, discussing potential side effects of medication/treatment, ensuring all allergy information is up to date, complying with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements, and infection control protocols and policies, maintaining professional/technical knowledge, reviewing professional journals, establishing personal networks, participating in professional associations, collaborating with managing physician and clinic staff to recommend and improve patient care practices, clinic guidelines, and workflow, and ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications include an intermediate individual contributor in a professional role, working independently within an established framework, receiving detailed instructions only on new assignments, possessing specialized knowledge and skills required to perform the role, applying practical knowledge, learned theories, concepts, principles, and methodologies to difficult but non-complex, conventional assignments, focusing on meeting objectives related to implementation or delivery of processes, programs, and/or policies, building productive internal and external working relationships, holding a bachelor's degree or additional role-relevant experience, having 2+ years of relevant experience preferred, holding an MD/DO degree from an accredited Medical School, having 2+ years of experience in a Primary Care Physician role (outside of residency), being board certified or board eligible in a primary care specialty, holding a current, active license to practice in Texas, holding a current, unrestricted DEA, having the potential to supervise 1-2 full-time APPs, maintaining required continuing medical education, possessing advanced interpersonal and counseling skills, advanced verbal/written/listening communication skills, strong deductive/inductive reasoning and observation skills, time-management skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks, attention to detail, adaptability, flexibility, the ability to maintain confidentiality, and the ability to work well as part of a team.
