About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead one of the organization's innovation centers. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of shaping the future of the alternative protein sector, with a focus on delivering the National Protein Strategy for the UK. This strategic role requires a senior executive with a proven track record in business engagement within the alternative protein industry and the ability to think strategically to make alternative proteins mainstream for a sustainable planet. As the CEO of NAPIC, you will be responsible for leading the center's executive management board, which is a collaborative effort involving multiple national and international partners. The ideal candidate will have a scientific background, preferably interdisciplinary, and will be an experienced leader capable of building and maintaining strong partnerships with government and industry. The role demands a strategic thinker and senior R&D leader with a robust understanding of bringing scientific propositions to market. The CEO will oversee the center's operations across the discovery, innovation, and commercialization pipeline, ensuring alignment with the center's objectives and leading the way in the transition to a sustainable, high-growth, blended protein bioeconomy.
