Human Resources GeneralistThe Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in supporting all core HR functions, including employee records management, compliance, recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, training coordination, and employee relations across multi-site and multi-state operations. This position ensures HR processes run smoothly, supports leadership with accurate data and reporting, and helps foster a positive, engaged, and compliant workplace. The role requires bilingual Spanish proficiency and strong experience with Arizona labor laws and HR systems.ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate and compliant employee records, including personnel files, I-9 documentation, and benefits records.Support HRIS system management by performing data entry, generating reports, and tracking documentation to ensure data integrity and compliance.Perform HR-related data entry and produce reports to support HR operations, regulatory compliance, and leadership decision-making.Assist with full-cycle recruiting, including posting job openings, managing candidate communication, coordinating interviews, and supporting onboarding processes.Coordinate new hire onboarding, ensuring completion of required documentation and adherence to all compliance requirements.Ensure compliance with federal, California, and Arizona labor laws, including wage and hour regulations, E-Verify, and Cal/OSHA requirements.Track employee certifications, licenses, and required training documentation to ensure ongoing compliance.Assist with internal audits and prepare documentation for external compliance reviews.Administer and track employee benefits eligibility, ensuring timely enrollment and accurate recordkeeping.Provide employees with support and education regarding insurance plans and benefits packages.Assist with open enrollment processes, including employee communications, system updates, and individual employee support.Process and manage benefit changes related to qualifying life events and special enrollments.Train and support supervisors on HR systems for performance management, employee documentation, and policy acknowledgments.Ensure accurate tracking of employee performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.Serve as a point of contact for employee HR-related questions and provide timely, professional support.Support employee relations matters by gathering information, documenting issues, and escalating concerns as appropriate.Assist with translation of HR materials and communications for Spanish-speaking employees, as needed.Coordinate scheduling and tracking of required training programs, including safety and compliance training.Maintain training records and monitor completion rates to ensure employees meet required training standards.Support Human Resources campaigns and initiatives that promote employee engagement, communication, and organizational culture.Plan and coordinate company events, including employee engagement activities and company-sponsored fundraising events.Provide administrative support to HR and operations teams, including scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and managing documentation.Support safety initiatives through tracking, coordination, and documentation of safety-related activities.Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive employee information at all times.Identify opportunities for process improvements within HR systems and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational needs.Essential SkillsAt least 3–5 years of progressive human resources experience, preferably supporting multi-site or multi-state environments.Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.Bilingual proficiency in Spanish, with the ability to translate HR materials and communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking employees.Demonstrated working experience with Arizona labor laws and compliance requirements.Strong experience with HRIS systems, applicant tracking systems, and employee record management.Solid understanding of federal and state labor laws, including wage and hour regulations, E-Verify, and Cal/OSHA requirements.Ability to manage and maintain accurate employee records, including personnel files, I-9 forms, benefits documentation, and training records.Strong organizational skills with the ability to track certifications, licenses, benefits eligibility, and training completion.Ability to generate, interpret, and present HR-related reports to support leadership and compliance needs.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance and support to employees and supervisors.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.Proficiency in coordinating onboarding, training, and employee engagement activities in a fast-paced environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working in construction, industrial, or field-based workforce environments.SHRM-CP or PHR certification, or actively working toward professional HR certification.Prior human resources experience within a construction or industrial company.Experience supporting safety initiatives and compliance training programs.Familiarity with multi-state HR compliance, particularly in California and Arizona.Ability to identify and implement process improvements within HR systems and workflows.Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities across recruiting, benefits, compliance, and employee relations.Comfort working closely with operations teams and field-based staff to support HR needs.Work EnvironmentThis is a full-time, onsite role based in a dynamic industrial and construction-oriented environment that supports steel fabrication, steel erection, crane services, and millwright operations throughout the Southwest. The schedule is five days onsite per week, typically 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., providing consistent daytime hours.
