Instrumentation and Electrical Technician

Position Summary & Responsibilities Respond to problems by troubleshooting, diagnostic testing, repairing/adjusting equipment, or conferring with co‑workers and supervisors for advice and techniques. Determine the most cost‑effective, timely, and efficient method for repairs. Perform proper preventative maintenance, repair, and maintain equipment using hand tools and power tools safely. Install, repair, and maintain mechanical regulating and controlling devices such as electric meters, gas regulators, thermostats, safety and flow valves. Install, repair, and maintain electrical, electronic, and pneumatic components on compressor units, pump units, ignition systems, and air‑fuel ratio systems. Troubleshoot electrical control panels, 4160 V and 480 V switchgear equipment. Assist Field Service Crews with equipment repairs and maintenance as needed. Install, maintain, repair, overhaul, calibrate, and test a wide variety of industrial instrumentation that records, indicates, controls, and regulates level, flow, pressure, temperature, and terminations. Troubleshoot Allen Bradley 5, 500, 5000 PLCs. Be well‑versed in Wonderware control systems, Altronic panel board controllers, Bentley Nevada vibration monitoring equipment. Communicate information effectively with all levels of co‑workers by telephone, written form, e‑mail, or in person. Position Requirements Work independently and as part of a team, focusing on teamwork and unity. Teach others skills effectively and cooperatively. Prioritize tasks and utilize time‑management skills. Have experience with modern instrumentation and electrical used in the natural gas industry. Work in an H2S environment. Available for call‑outs (evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays) as shifts require. Willing to work overtime as needed/required. Willing to take direction from supervisors and senior team members. Have a current valid driver’s license. Live within 1 hour of the plant site (Jay, Florida). High school diploma or GED required. Minimum Qualifications High‑school diploma or GED equivalent, valid driver’s license, 3 to 5 years of experience in instrumentation and electrical maintenance. Previous experience in an oil and gas plant preferred. Ability to troubleshoot and install a variety of electrical and pneumatic instrumentation. Basic knowledge of different types of motors and electrical requirements. Perform medium to heavy physical work, be familiar with basic OSHA safety procedures, work under pressure, work within a team environment, and function with little supervision. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Move or traverse from one location on the job site to another, remain stationary for extended periods, stoop, kneel, or squat regularly, and sometimes climb ladders or uneven terrain. Detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, estimate, and assess driving operations effectively. Operate a 4×4 vehicle. Repetitively move or position feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, and back, and constantly use hands and fingers in the performance of work. Work atop elevated surfaces and traverse various heights. Lift or carry 70 lb or more (very heavy). Pushing and pulling with a maximum force of 150 ft./lb. Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions and well‑site conditions; perform tasks in physically demanding environments. The Employer retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position. Driver Requirements Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record. Operate a company vehicle for work‑related travel or receive a stipend for operating a personal vehicle for company use; adhere to traffic laws and company vehicle policies.
