Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA)

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Home Health Aide to provide high-quality, person-centered care in the comfort of clients’ homes. In this role, you will support individuals with daily living activities, promote safety and comfort, and help create a positive care experience that supports independence and dignity.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Provide support with mobility, transfers, repositioning, and safe ambulation.
• Prepare light meals and assist with feeding as needed.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe home environment.
• Monitor and report changes in client condition, behavior, or living environment to the care team.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to clients and their families.
• Follow individualized care plans and agency policies at all times.
• Document care provided accurately and promptly in accordance with requirements.
• Support medication reminders when permitted by policy and care plan.
• Maintain client confidentiality and uphold professional standards of care.

Qualifications

• Current Certified Home Health Aide credential, where required by state or local regulations.
• Prior experience in home care, long-term care, or a related caregiving setting preferred.
• Ability to provide respectful, compassionate, and reliable care.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic knowledge of safe client handling and infection control practices.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism and good judgment.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required, depending on assignment.
• Ability to meet any applicable background check, health screening, or training requirements.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting clients with chronic conditions, recovery needs, or age-related limitations.
• Familiarity with home care documentation and care plan implementation.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to build trust and maintain positive relationships with clients and families.
