HR Generalist
$33 - $36 per hourSummit at Snoqualmie
Overview The Summit at Snoqualmie and Alpental is the Pacific Northwest's premier multi-mountain ski resort, located 47 miles east of Seattle at Snoqualmie Pass. The property spans five base areas and 20 chairlifts across Summit West, Summit Central, Summit East, and Alpental within the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. A four-season operating model includes a mountain bike park and one of the most accessible ski destinations in North America. Boyne Resorts is the largest family‑owned independent mountain resort company in North America, guided by five core values: Long‑Term Thinking, Excellence in Execution, Attitude is Everything, Developing Great People, and Serve First. The HR Generalist is a broad-execution role within a deliberately flat HR department structure, where every HR team member reports directly to the VP of HR with no intermediate management layer. This role does not manage other employees; instead it delivers hands‑on ownership across workforce planning, total rewards and compensation, leave administration, and recruitment strategy. Responsibilities Long‑Term Thinking Lead seasonal headcount planning in partnership with department heads. Produce headcount and turnover reports for the leadership team. Excellence in Execution Maintain Zero‑Hour Tracking to flag inactive team members who continue to ride on employee passes. Own the seasonal/frontline worker wage matrix by department — lift ops, ski patrol, food & beverage, rental/retail, and similar hourly classifications. Senior manager and above compensation remains owned by the VP of HR. Administer FMLA and PFML leave programs, including full case tracking. Attitude is Everything Build, launch, and manage the company's Total Rewards & Recognition Program. Assist in designing the recognition framework, including cadence and eligibility criteria. Plan job fairs and shape overall recruitment strategy — often a candidate's first impression of the company. Develop Great People Develop and refresh job descriptions in alignment with company culture and standards. Develop recruitment materials, including candidate evaluation forms and structured interview questions. Serve First Coordinate seasonal layoffs and manage rehire eligibility determinations. Provide local support for corporate-administered benefits, including ACA compliance. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. 2+ years of progressive HR generalist experience, ideally spanning compensation, workforce planning, leave administration, and recruitment. Strong working knowledge of compensation benchmarking methods and pay equity analysis, including seasonal/frontline wage structures common to ski resort operations. Familiarity with multi‑state pay transparency and wage disclosure requirements. Working knowledge of FMLA, PFML, and related federal/state leave and benefits regulations. Comfort operating independently across multiple concurrent functions without a management chain of authority. Benefits Wage range: $33.00 – $36.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Health, dental, and vision coverage. Paid time off: accrue PTO and earn 2 weeks or more in a 12‑month period. 401(k) retirement plan with discretionary match after 1,000 hours worked in a calendar year (2‑year vesting cliff). Sick time: accrue 1 hour per 40 hours worked up to a maximum of 64 hours per year. It is the policy of Boyne Resorts to recruit, hire and promote in all job classifications and shall not discriminate with regard to race, color, national origin, religion, ancestry, sex, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, veteran status, or any other non‑merit factor. Boyne Resorts is committed to valuing individual diversity in the workplace by reaching beyond stereotypical views and using the strengths and different perspectives and unique backgrounds that each person offers. Even more importantly, Boyne Resorts embraces and derives value from the diverse views that each individual brings. #J-18808-Ljbffr
