POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking seeking qualified Clinical Coordinator (Ph.D, Psy.D, LMFT, LCSW, LPCC) in our substance abuse and sex offender treatment program.
The Clinical Coordinator (CC) provides leadership, clinical oversight, and assists in operational management of a community forensic mental health clinic(s). This role requires advanced clinical expertise, experience with sex offender and justice-involved populations, and the ability to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and contractual obligations. The Clinical Coordinator assists with developing and maintaining high-performing clinical teams, upholds ethical and trauma-informed care standards, and drives positive client outcomes while meeting organizational goals. The position includes CASOMB and board-level supervision and support for eligible staff.
The Clinical Coordinator (CC) supports the Clinical Director (CD) in the daily operations of their respective clinic. They provide direct clinical care and immediate administrative support, ensuring contractual compliance and maintaining relationships with stakeholders. The CC will serve to ensure a high quality of service delivery and maintain the highest standards of treatment to staff and clients of HOPE Program.
Position may be region-specific or require travel for service delivery across multiple clinic sites. Ideal candidates have solid foundational knowledge in forensic mental health, demonstrate ethical clinical competence, and thrive in multidisciplinary team environments focused on rehabilitation and public safety.
ESSENTIAL EXPECTATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clinical Operations:
● Oversee all aspects of clinical service delivery, including caseload management, staffing assignments, and program implementation for forensic populations.
● Maintain active clinical and supervision caseloads per BBS/BOP/CASOMB guidelines (50% clinical focus).
● Conduct clinical assessments, intakes, screenings, evaluations, etc
● Facilitate team meetings and agency-sponsored and CASOMB specific training to strengthen forensic clinical skills
● Monitor Direct Clinical Contact (DCC) levels to ensure front-line clinicians meet expectations (e.g., 60%). Assign cases and assist in developing corrective action plans, as needed.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
● Monitor regulatory, contractual, and ethical standards (CASOMB, BBS/BOP, ATSA).
● Conduct audits and implement corrective action plans as needed.
● Ensure 100% compliance with contractual deliverables and clinic metrics.
Supervision & Mentorship:
● Provide board-level clinical supervision and mentorship to licensed and unlicensed staff, doctoral- level trainees, and practicum students.
● Ensure staff meet licensure and certification requirements. Stakeholder Engagement:
● Serve as a liaison with referral sources, courts, probation/parole agencies, and community partners.
● Foster collaboration and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders.
Program Development:
● Contribute to program design, site expansion, and quality improvement initiatives.
● Develop and facilitate clinical training for staff. Data-Driven Oversight:
● Track clinic metrics and ensure clinical and administrative objectives are met.
Other Duties:
● Perform additional responsibilities consistent with leadership, supervision, and program objectives.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The right candidate must meet the following requirements in order to apply.
● Doctoral or Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related behavioral health field
● Licensed in California with BBS (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC) or Board of Psychology (Ph.D/PsyD)
● Minimum 8 years of clinical experience, including 5 years in forensic or sex offender-specific treatment
● Minimum 6 years of administrative or management experience in clinical settings
● Experience providing board-level supervision and CASOMB supervision (or eligible)
● Ability to manage difficult client discussions and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Proven track record of reliability and consistency of high performance
● Exhibits an exemplary work ethic by being highly organized, detailed, and thorough
● In-depth knowledge and application of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other evidence-based forensic treatment modalities.
● Successful completion of supervisory training required by licensing board.
● Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage high-pressure situations, and maintain effective professional relationships internally and externally.
● Proficient in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Risk-Need-Responsivity (RNR) principles, and sex offender-specific curriculum delivery.
● Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills with capability to work independently and collaboratively.
● Dedicated to trauma-informed, ethical care and prevention of further sexual victimization.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
● Licensed for at least 2 years with BBS or BOP
● Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in forensic or behavioral health
● Minimum 3 years of administrative or management experience in a clinical setting
● Subject matter expert-level knowledge of risk assessments and forensic tools (e.g., STABLE, STATIC 99R)
● Knowledge of ethical guidelines per CAMFT/NASW/ACA and ATSA standards
EDUCATION:
● Doctoral or Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related behavioral health field
● Licensed in California with BBS (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC) or Board of Psychology (Ph.D/PsyD)
SKILLS & ABILITIES

● Proficiency in forensic assessments, risk evaluations, and evidence-based clinical interventions
● Advanced organizational, auditing, and compliance management skills
● Competency with EHR systems (e.g., Electronic Health Record (EHR)) and clinical documentation
SOFT SKILLS:
● Strong leadership, mentorship, and communication skills
● Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain high performance under pressure
● Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution capabilities
● Commitment to ethical, trauma-informed, and culturally competent care
REQUIREMENTS:
● Must maintain and adhere to CASOMB Independent Level certification, SARATSO compliance,
and adhere to ethical guidelines (CAMFT, NASW, ACA, ATSA)
● Must adhere to licensing boards standards and requirements
● Once eligible to supervise, candidate will be assigned associates to supervise
● Facilitate clinical training and maintain current knowledge of evidence-based forensic treatment modalities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
● Full-time, primarily on-site within a forensic mental health facility serving justice-involved clients, with travel between locations.
● Frequent movement between offices, clinic rooms, and community or correctional sites
● Interaction with clients, clinical teams, probation/parole officers, courts, and community partners
● Leadership roles require frequent regional travel across multiple clinics and stakeholder sites
● Some evenings or flexible hours may be required
● Strict adherence to HIPAA, BBS/BOP, CASOMB, and other compliance standards
● Professional composure required under high-stress or sensitive situations

Operational Requirement for Independent Work
Due to the nature of our clinical and operational responsibilities, there will be times when staff members are required to work independently in the office and provide direct client services without another staff member present. Please understand that the ability to work independently in these scenarios is a core competency of this role and an operational necessity for our clinics to function effectively.
